The world’s toughest sailing race is back!

The Volvo Ocean Race 2014-15 route will take in 11 cities in 11 countries and will require the teams to cover almost 40,000 nautical miles over nine months of racing.

Alicante – Cape Town – Abu Dhabi – Sanya – Auckland – Itajai – Newport – Lisbon – Lorient – The Hague (Pit stop) – Gothenburg

  1. Only one Southern Ocean leg is poor. If we must go dancing around the Middle East and Asia can we not return to Cape Town and do a second Southern Ocean leg, or at least leave Australia to Port? Or are we worried that our Ocean Going yachts will have delaminated by Cape Horn in that case?
